Things to do in Hawaii by island:

Oahu – Polynesian Cultural Center, Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor memorials of Arizona and Missouri.

Maui – Pick any resort of your choosing. Haleakula Crater. Lavendar Farm.

Big Island – Volcano National Park, Kona, and just drive around the island.

Kauai – Waimea Canyon, Hanalei Bay, Napali Coast, Grottoes, Owa Pua Gardens,

Maui is your ideal “resort” island. Kauai & the Big Island have lots of outdoors activities, like Waimea Canyon & the Na Pali coast on Kauai & the Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island. If you are looking at history & culture, your best bet is Oahu. There is a lot to see & do in those areas: Pearl Harbor (the Arizona Memorial & the Missouri), Bishop Museum, the Mission Houses Museum, the Art Academy, & Art on the Fence. And there is still a lot of out of doors things to see & do.
