There is a good possibility because of the bird population in Hawaii. California won't let you bring in fruit from out of state. Not even if the state is right next to them (NV, OR, etc) They are worried about fruit flies. I believe Fl is the same. And I am pretty sure that Hawaii won't let you bring in plants that have not been checked. Many states have laws like that to protect their resources from contamination. Check out the sites your other answers gave you and also go to Hawaii's state web site. I envy you moving to there. I just got back from a cruise there and I sooooo want to live there. Good luck to you.
Oh and I just remembered something. NO airline will let you transport a bird of any type without a vet check.

Try this link, there is a second link to click specifically about birds near the top. There are several parrot species that are prohibited in Hawaii but lovebirds appear to be allowed. Lories, quakers and parrotlets are prohibited, amongst others.

I don't think so. Their quarantine law is to prevent rabies. I don't think birds are carriers of that disease. The following website outlines their policies:

Good luck in Hawaii. We lived there in the 70's. I'm sure it's quite different. Get ready for gridlock traffic and non-existent parking; sky-high prices on food, housing, and pretty much everything. Despite that, we liked it a lot. Visit the other islands as much as possible.

<a href=""></a>

where are you moving from? The US usually quarantines animals from any non US country, but because Hawaii is an island, they might have even higher standards. Do a search on Customs and Immigration.

I think yes to both questions, it needs a vets certificate, and will need to be quarantined.
