How do you deal with Vog (Volcanic Fog)?

Agent319.007 asked:

….on the island of Hawaii since Kilauea lava is changing direction towards Hilo, instead of the sea?

I have no plans to move from the Big Island.

  1. Tanker Says:

Another tough question from Hawaii. You already probably know that Vog is made up of different oxides such as nitrogen and sulfur. These substances add approximately 2,000 tons of green house gases every day. What causes the Vog is when the volcanic gases, oxides of nitrogen react with sunlight and moisture, this how the gas is created. If you have ever noticed automobiles probably rust out very quickly of these islands with this problem.
As for any cure, nothing really can be done. This Vog is know to cause respiratory problems for children and older adults.
Sorry I wasn’t able to give you better news, I got this information from Wikipedia.
