Depends on what you like. With that many adults I would think you would want variety, which you won’t find in Tahoe. Hawaii is more exotic. Orlando is probably more cost-effective and there are tons of things to do (and the beach is an hour away).

It really depends on what you want to do and how much you want to spend.

I think that Hawaii would be more enjoyable and relaxing for the adults, while the kids may get a little bored.

Orlando would be a blast for the kids, but could get a little boring for the adults.

I also think Lake Tahoe would be a good option, maybe a little more suitable for the whole family.

But it just depends on budget and the activities you want to do.

I’ve been to all three. Of course, it depends what you’re looking for. From my family’s point of view, Tahoe and Orlando are OK (of course, we lived near Disneyland Paris for many years), but the Big Island is AWESOME!

For a “family” vacation, I vote Orlando. Florida has many family oriented packages, such as the Disney/Universal Studios deals.

For example, Disneyworld (aka WDW) has a deal for 2 adults, 2 kids (18 and under) for $1500 and includes hotel and park passes. In Aug/September they even toss in free dining (lunch/dinner). You can buy a complete package with $200 deposit (per family not per person) and then pay the package 45 days before departure.. meaning the only thing you worry about when you get there is breakfast and souvenirs. That way you can really budget and make payments before leaving.

WDW travel will help you, or Auto club has special packages too.

I’m in my late 30s and go to WDW every September. I don’t get bored and their food at the park is fantastic!! 3 or 4 star quality, and since its free, its even nicer. I truly feel like I am on vacation when we go, and this September will be my 5th year going.

Lake Tahoe is geared for the water/snow family. They do have casinos, so by day you can do the water sports in the non winter time or ski in the winter, then gamble at night. If you have a kid that may be hard at night.

In Hawaii, the island is gorgeous but unless you like the sand and surf, there’s not a lot to do… perhaps explore. The Island is very expensive, so you will need to get a package. Many hotels offer packages, as well as specialized places like Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays. The AUto Club or travel agent has Hawaiian packages.

Remember, for food and goods, the price you see at home should be increased $5-$10 more on the Island. For the hotel, a $100 a night room will give you 4 walls and that’s about it. I would go to tripadvisor.com to make sure you get a quality room for a decent price.

Have fun and make sure everyone gets input on their trip plans!
