Can you see active lava flows on the Big Island?

corbin_rox asked:

We are going to the Big Island in mid March. Where can you go to see active lava flows? Any advice would be much appreciated?

Yeah you can, it may not be as spectacular as you think but its still pretty cool. I live on kauai and go out there a few times a year. The lava flows you are talking about are in volcanoes national park and are very easy to find. Just follow the tourists :)

The big island is a beautiful place to visit.

Did you know it is home of one of the largest cattle ranches in the USA?

To really appreciate it I really recommend taking one of the helicopter tours.
Will find it to be well worth the money. And take the extended tours. Covers all of the interesting sites. And you can even buy a copy of the video the take on each tour-show people back home what you viewed.
